It is with profound sadness that we share that Wan Kim passed away in May 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer. Wan was a valued member of Trez Capital and made a meaningful impact during his time with the Firm. He was dedicated, thoughtful and genuinely enthusiastic about his work and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of working with him.

Wan Kim joined Trez Capital in 2024 with over 30 years of experience in the Canadian investment management industry. He led the retail sales team, managed national accounts, drove strategic growth initiatives and maintained overall operational excellence.
Prior to joining the Firm, Wan served as Senior Vice President of National Sales at NCM Investments for eight years. During his tenure at NCM, he focused on enhancing client experience and expanding dealer distribution nationwide. Before his time at NCM, Wan was the National Sales Manager at Laurentian Bank, supporting over 27,000 Financial Advisors across various channels. He also held the position of Senior Vice President of National Sales at Matrix Asset Management and Stone Asset Management.
Throughout his career, Wan was actively involved in product development and distribution, including Mutual Funds, Alternative Investments, and ETFs. He served as a director on various flow-through limited partnerships and TSX-listed closed-ended funds. Wan held several designations from the Investment Funds Institute of Canada (IFIC) and the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI).
