Darren Esser

Darren Esser joined Trez Capital in 2020 and is responsible for the Bridge Financing program and capital markets strategies, overseeing the origination and execution of commercial real estate bridge loans across various asset classes and markets, along with financing Trez Capital’s lending activities. 

Darren brings 25 years of in-depth commercial real estate (CRE) finance experience, including loan origination, debt and fixed income investment, asset management, warehouse finance, syndications, CMBS and CRE CLO securitization. Before joining Trez Capital, he was at Wells Fargo Securities from 2005 through 2019, where he most recently held the position of Managing Director, Commercial Real Estate Capital Markets and Head of CRE CLO Securitization and Securities Finance. Prior to this, Darren was a Director in the structured credit group at Standard & Poor’s (S&P) and a Vice President with GE Capital Corporation Real Estate. Darren started his career as an attorney and practiced in the commercial real estate finance groups of both Jones, Day and Thacher Proffitt in New York. 

Darren earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from the University of Maryland at College Park and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Brooklyn Law School.
