Chris Worthington

Vice President, Origination

Chris Worthington is responsible for the sourcing, structuring, underwriting, and management of lending and investing opportunities in the United States with a primary focus on Southeastern markets.

Prior to joining the Miami-based team, Chris served as Head of Credit Risk & Underwriting, overseeing the company’s lending platforms in Canada as well as the Southeastern and Western U.S. During this time, he led teams responsible for evaluating and managing debt placements, collaborated with colleagues across the organization to develop key lending practices, and worked closely with origination and risk teams to facilitate the structuring and closing of customized financing solutions. 

Before joining Trez Capital in 2011, Chris gained valuable hands-on experience in the construction industry, working with an electrical contractor on the construction of several large-scale commercial developments. Through these projects he acquired invaluable insights into the nuances of project management, coordination of diverse teams, and the complex interplay between design and execution. This understanding enables him to approach lending and investing opportunities with a unique blend of technical expertise and practical wisdom.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree with a specialization in urban land economics from the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia and a Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA), Certified Management Accountants (CMA) designation from Chartered Professional Accountants British Columbia (CPABC).
