John Maragliano

Member of the Executive Leadership Team

John Maragliano, CPA, CA, CFA, is an integral member of Trez Capital’s executive team, leading strategy to optimize fund performance and drive the execution of innovative products for investors. He oversees all accounting and finance operations, bank financing relationships, and strategic planning for the growth of our business, as well as analysis, reporting, financial controls, tax and treasury. John advances operational excellence by leveraging data, building business efficiency and implementing technology to enable strong business alignment and growth. He is a trusted advisor and business partner to the team.

John joined Trez Capital in 2021 as Chief Financial Officer and has since taken on increasingly senior responsibilities, being named Chief Operating Officer in 2023 and further appointed to Co-Chief Executive Officer in 2025. He has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, focusing on banking, insurance, wealth management and fintech. His extensive background includes financial and management reporting, treasury management, capital and liquidity management, M&A transactions and capital raising.

Prior to joining Trez Capital, John was the Chief Financial Officer at SNAP Financial Group and the Executive Vice President and Group Chief Financial Officer at Butterfield Bank, where he played a central role on the executive management team as it navigated the global financial crisis.

John earned a Bachelor of Administration (BA) in Accounting from Simon Fraser University. He is a Chartered Accountant (CA) and holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
